The CEA CAPA Seville Center was founded in 2006 to provide North American students with an interdisciplinary liberal arts education that’s enhanced by its location. Courses are offered in Spanish and English, offering you the opportunity to both improve your language skills and further your academic pursuits in a variety of subjects, with Seville as your classroom.
Courses at the CEA CAPA Seville Center allow you to delve into the diverse history, sociology, culture, and art of Spain, incorporating components that expose you to elements of the city, from monuments and museums to businesses, local food markets, and government agencies. You’ll be encouraged to explore on your own and challenged to draw connections between the subjects you study in class and your observations outside of the classroom. Not only will this help you get to know Seville, but also help you gain insight into how Spain fits into a larger European context.
CEA CAPA Seville Center curriculum provides the tools and direction you need to learn about Spain and reflect on your own country and culture. Expect to actively participate in classes, as faculty will facilitate your intellectual, cultural, and emotional growth through lively discussions.

Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Seville Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Seville Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Seville Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Professors at the CEA CAPA Seville Center will carefully evaluate your work and progress throughout their academic session. When calculating the final grade, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Pablo de Olavide University (UPO) was founded in 1997 and has a modern 345-acre campus 50 minutes outside of Seville's city center, easily accessible by bus or train. While the university is located outside the city, its campus offers amenities and student services not often available in more centralized, urban campuses, including modern athletic, laboratory, and technical facilities.
You’ll take courses through the International Center at Pablo de Olavide; courses have been developed and are taught by professors from the university. You may enroll in Spanish language courses in addition to a wide-range of English & Spanish focused-area electives offered to the international student community. The university currently enrolls approximately 11,000 students.
The campus, faculty, and academic programs at Pablo de Olavide University provide a wonderful immersion experience. Although you will be in classes with other international students, you will witness the daily Spanish university campus life culture.

Pablo de Olavide University is a fully accredited, state-run institution that is recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a degree-granting institution of higher learning. UPO is aligned with the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) standards.
Founded in 1505, today the University of Seville (USS) is one of the largest institutions in Spain. You’ll share the hallways and university facilities with Spanish students of the Facultad de Filología and the Facultad de Geografía e Historia (Schools of Philology, Geography and History), located in an 18th century building that originally housed the Royal Tobacco Factory and served as the backdrop for the opera Carmen. With such a long and prestigious history, it’s not surprising that the University of Seville is so well-regarded.
More than 70,000 students attend the University of Seville, with an international student population of about 4,000. You’ll take courses through Cursos Concertados con Universidades Extranjeras, which offers two tracks of multi-disciplined courses – one track in English and another in Spanish across content areas. Although you will be attending class with other international and US American students, you will glimpse Spanish university student life when attending classes in these two very popular departments.

EUSA University Center is a Spanish private university located in the heart of Seville. Academically accredited by the University of Seville, EUSA has catered to the learning needs of over 55,000 national and international students since 1961. Each year, about 10-15% of the student body is made up of international students. This exceptional academic environment is directly linked to the world of tourism, media and communication, promoting innovation and creativity, and adding value to present-day society.
The EUSA campus is one of Sevilla’s most modern educational settings, featuring audio-visual production equipment, comprehensive technology, and new facilities. It fosters intercultural exchange and cooperation among both international and Spanish students completing undergraduate, graduate, and vocational studies. Academic offerings for visiting students are wide and diverse.
Study abroad offerings include over 30 different subject areas English, ranging from media studies, business, journalism, and human resources to tourism. You’ll attend class with other international students and perhaps some Spanish students. Courses are developed and taught by professors from both EUSA and the University of Seville.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.

CEA CAPA students studying in Seville during Spring and Fall semesters have the option of living in apartments while abroad. Generally located downtown, these apartments cater to independent, do-it-yourself-type students who want to experience Seville just as the locals do. Cook delicious Andalusian meals with your roommates in your kitchen, explore the personality of the surrounding neighborhood, and make your new Spanish apartment a home. Please note, this is a first-come, first-served housing option.
Engage in Seville’s colorful culture firsthand when you live in a homestay with a Sevillian family. For the culture-seeking student whose study abroad goals include improving Spanish language skills and cultural understanding, homestays provide the opportunity to dive headfirst into the daily lives of Seville's locals.
Experience a Spanish living environment with an independent twist when you sign up to live in CEA CAPA’s Casa de Sevilla. A homestay and apartment hybrid, this housing option enables you to sample the best of both worlds. Like a homestay, you’ll enjoy the personalized experience of a host who prepares meals, cleans, and interacts with you, yet does not live with you. Like an apartment, you’ll reside in independent living quarters where you can come and go as you please and live with other CEA CAPA or Spanish students.
Please note, this housing option is not available to students in the summer Internship or Study + Internship programs.
Live in a modern residential complex with CCTV security in the building and a 24/7 security presence. Each unit includes two private rooms, shared kitchenette and bathroom. All studios include desks, wardrobes, and dining tables. Students will have access to communal spaces - laundry room, fitness center, communal kitchen, additional study areas, cinema lounge, swimming pool, and roof top terrace.
This housing option carries a supplemental fee which may vary based on housing inclusions (i.e. meals, amenities, etc.) as well as program length. Exact amount will be confirmed on the housing application form.
Ideal for group of friends who want to live together in an international community. Live in a residential complex with CCTV security in the building and a 24/7 security presence. Each cluster includes 6 single rooms with A/C and ensuite bathrooms. All apartments include a fully- equipped kitchen and living room area. CEA CAPA offers many housing options while you’re studying abroad in Seville. Standard CEA CAPA housing is included in your overall program price.
